Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 – The Ultimate F2P MMO In The Making?
So now we return to the land of Tyria in Guild Wars 2 and no less than 250 years after the time of the original game. And staying true to the original concept of enticing more people to play MMOs this game will also have no subscription fees to play. All that’s required of you is to buy the game for your PC and enjoy playing it online. Simples!
One of the biggest changes in Guild Wars 2 is that you’re able to play as non-human characters from the 5 distinct races in the land of Tyria who are:
Humans – don’t really need to explain these ones we hope?
Charr – these are the Orc-like creatures who overran Tyria in Guild Wars – ferocious warriors with equally ferocious war machines.
Norn – these are huge shape shifting warriors from the Northern Lands who are utterly brave and very fond of fighting.
Asura – a hyper intelligent species who have access to extremely advanced technology – small in stature but great in power.
Sylvari – this is a new race which recently sprang into existence. A very young race but an extremely powerful one. And they look exactly like Elves.
The professions you can choose from for each of these races are (so far) guardian, thief, elementalist, warrior, ranger and necromancer but you can expect more professions to be announced as the game draws closer to release.
For ardent fans of the original game you’re not going to be able to transfer your character to the Guild Wars 2 game environment because it’s been completely overhauled. But you do get your own slot in the Hall of Monuments where your previous exploits can shine for all to see.
The original graphical engine has also been upgraded so you’ll now get rich textures, shading and shadowing for example. The combat in the game has also received a facelift so you can expect to see combo attacks and environmental weapons (rocks, trees etc) being included which will add a whole new element of fun to the game – which is whole idea in the first place right?
And there’s good news for solo adventurers here too because you’re going to be able to go questing all on your lonesome in Guild Wars 2 although the game obviously does have full support for group quests and missions too.
We’re expecting great things from this game and the addition of advanced technological weapons for the different races (the Charr have basic guns for example) should make this game a very interesting one to get immersed in.
