Order and Chaos Online

World of Warcraft was a far bigger hit than anyone expected. Ok there was definitely a market for the fantasy/RPG player out there but it was the depth of the player game immersion combined with the almost fanatical following the game achieved – which included millions of players who had never played an online game before in their lives.

It was only a matter of time before somebody tried to emulate this success on the iPhone/iPad and Gameloft has risen to that challenge and from the perspective of this reviewer they’ve knocked that fantasy ball right out of the park. This is the game a lot of IOS users have been waiting a long time for and Gameloft have delivered pretty much exactly what they were looking for – based on the capabilities of the devices themselves.

Order and Chaos, as the name suggests, is about the battle between good and evil that you’re going to be taking part in. There are 4 basic races in the game and they’re divided into Human and Elf for the side of Order and Orcs and Undead for the side of Chaos. You can then choose from one of the following classes -warrior, mage, monk and ranger – each of which with their own set of abilities and skills that you can develop as you play the game.

Ok that’s a pretty thin premise to base a game on but it’s all the game needs to be honest – sure there could be a massive back story to it all but why bother?

Before I forget Order and Chaos isn’t a free game – you got to pay to play but it’s a very affordable cost. The app itself will set you back $6.99 but that includes 3-months of playtime and then you only need to pony up 99c for each month of play after that. For what this game offers you’re getting a real bargain in my opinion.

The visuals in the game are what you’d expect from a game that’s trying very hard to be WoW and, cleverly enough, they look as good on the iPhone as they do on the iPad – the scaling works really well.

In the game longevity stakes you have nothing to worry about really because there’s 500 quests to deal with, 1,000 skills to learn and get used to and then 2,000 pieces of equipment to find. You’re not going to achieve this in a weekend – let’s just face facts. Oh and you can loot killed characters equipment and other valuables too which is a bit morbid in the real world but fits in perfectly with the theme of this game.

Basically you’re going to be very hard pushed to find a better game fantasy MMORPG for IOS devices right now – and the game has also been released for Facebook too so you get to enjoy it no matter where you are.
